The guide

Overview

Animal.io is an interesting multiplayer online game. Control your animal to push others off the platform by swinging your tail. Meat can increase your size and hamburger can add the length of the tail, the mushroom will become a little size but faster. Kill your enemies and win the game. To unlock more adorable animals.

Rivalry makes simple games better. A multiplayer title here might be a two-button fighting game or a racing game or a turn-based board game, and it hardly matters, because the other person is the real content. Sessions are rounds of a minute or two, with a tally. The player who is losing always wants one more. The player who is winning usually agrees.

How to play

1Select a mode. Local games share a keyboard or screen; online games find an opponent for you.
2Check which keys or on-screen buttons belong to each player before the countdown.
3Play your first round to learn, your second to test your opponent, and your third to win.
4Use the rematch or next round button to keep the score running.

Why it's worth a go

Who it's for

Suits friends, couples, siblings and classmates, as well as solo players looking for an online opponent. Older children through adults will find it approachable. A laptop or tablet suits shared play best.
