Does Avoid the blue need an internet connection the whole time?

It needs one to load. After that, a short dropout may not interrupt play, but you should not expect it to work fully offline.

Can I replay old stages?

In most casual games, yes. A stage map or menu lets you revisit anything you have cleared, often to improve your rating.

Is it suitable for someone who has never played games?

Very much so. Casual games are built for exactly that person. The first few minutes teach everything needed.

The guide

Overview

It is a casual endless game made with the main motive of passing time. In this game, the player has to avoid the blue blocks, if the player collides with the blue block game ends but if there is a collision with the gold block one adds to the score.

What it's like to play

People reach for casual games for the same reason they reach for a crossword: to occupy their hands and half their brain for a while. The stages are bright and quick. The goals are clear. There is a satisfying sound when you get something right and a soft one when you do not. A session might be two stages or twenty, and either is fine.

How to play

1Start by tapping anything that moves or glows. The game will show you right away whether that was the intended action.
2Match, stack or sort according to the stage goal, keeping an eye on the move or time counter if one is shown.
3Clear obstacles that block large areas before chasing points; space is worth more than score early on.
4When you finish a stage, glance at the stars or rating and decide whether to replay or move on.

Why it's worth a go

Avoid the blue is the definition of pick-up-and-play. Nothing to install, nothing to sign into, and the controls are tap and swipe. It fills a quiet moment without taking over your evening, and it works just as well on a phone as it does on a bigger screen.

Who it's for

Suits anyone who wants something gentle, including young children with supervision, busy adults, and people recovering from a long day. It does not require quick reactions or prior gaming experience.
