A mouse and keyboard. The mouse usually aims and fires, and the keyboard moves if the game has movement. The start screen shows the exact bindings.

The guide

Overview

Try to be the master of destruction, heat up the buildings neatly and show no mercy. In 'Cannon Balls 3D' it depends on how skillfully you place the shots so that the structures collapse as efficiently as possible. Watch your ammo, because it's limited.

What it's like to play

Crosshairs, targets, and a trigger finger that gets tired before you expect it to. Shooting games here range from fixed-screen target galleries to side-scrolling run-and-gun stages, but the feel is consistent: enemies appear, you react, the score climbs. Pressure builds through numbers rather than complexity. A session is a handful of rounds, each one pushing a bit further before the health bar gives out.

How to play

1Check the start screen for whether the mouse aims or your character moves with the keyboard, since shooters use both styles.
2Aim slightly ahead of moving targets. Most projectiles take a moment to arrive.
3Take cover or retreat when several enemies fire at once; health does not regenerate in most browser shooters.
4Grab weapon or ammo pickups when they drop, especially before a boss or large wave.
