Catburglar

Catburglar is a free HTML5 kids game you can play instantly in your browser.

A child-friendly game should teach itself in under a minute, and the good ones in this category do. There is a picture, a prompt, and a reward. A child learns what to do by doing it. Sessions are gentle: a few stages of matching, sorting, coloring or hopping, with a celebration at each finish. There is no clock to beat and nothing to lose.

• Mouse to aim, click to act
• Arrow keys or WASD to move; Space to jump or confirm
• Press Escape or the exit button to leave the full-screen player

1. 1Tap Play and watch the first animation; it demonstrates the one thing the game wants.
2. 2Copy the animation: tap the glowing object, drag the item to its outline, or follow the arrow.
3. 3Look for stars, confetti or a cheerful sound to know the move was right.
4. 4Tap the arrow at the end of a stage to continue, or the home button to pick a different activity.

• Free to play, nothing to install, no account needed
• Loads in the browser tab and opens full screen when you press Play
• Plays best with the phone turned sideways or on a wider screen
• Mouse and keyboard controls, with touch support on most devices
• Listed under Kids

Catburglar keeps things simple and kind. It runs free in a browser tab with no download or login, which makes it quick to open when a child needs five minutes of something fun. The gentle difficulty means almost every attempt ends well, and that matters at this age.

Suits children from around three upward, with the youngest benefiting from an adult nearby. Older children may finish it quickly but often like the colors and sounds anyway.

Can a young child play Catburglar alone?

Usually, after seeing the first stage with an adult. The prompts are visual and the controls are simple taps and drags.

Does the game have links out?

The game runs inside a player on this site. A parent should supervise as with any website, but the games themselves are chosen for children.

What happens if my child gets stuck?

The game typically repeats the hint animation after a pause. A parent can also tap the home or restart button and try another stage.
