Does Downhill Christmas Dash work on a phone?

Yes. Most sports games here use swipe or tap controls that suit a touchscreen. A tablet gives more room to see the whole field or court.

The guide

Overview

The snow is falling and Santa Claus is hitting the slopes. He has strapped on pair of skis and is racing down the hill collecting gift boxes along the way. Race to the bottom and collect as many gifts as you can, but look out for those evil Snowmen. They are out to stop Santa from his Christmas mission. If you bump into a snowman you will fall and the game will end. There are special power-ups along the way that will help you get a higher score. The winged boots increase your speed and raise the gifts scores. The golden star make you invincible for 8 seconds. The Christmas sports game will challenge your reflexes and get you in the Christmas

What it's like to play

A football match in a browser game lasts about three minutes and still manages to feel like a match. That is the trick of the genre. Sports games compress the real thing into a few essential inputs, keep the rules recognisable, and let the scoreboard do the rest. Sessions are built from short rounds, and the urge to play one more is strong when you have just lost.

How to play

1Pick a team or player if offered, then start a match and spend the first few seconds learning how your athlete moves.
2Use the arrow keys or on-screen pad to position, and the action button or tap to kick, shoot or swing.
3Time your action to the moment the ball or target is in reach; early or late inputs lose power or direction.
4Watch the clock and score, and change your approach when behind rather than repeating what is not working.
