The guide

Overview

Football Masters is the new sports game by Madpuffers. In Football Masters you control a football team consisting of 1 or 2 players and you can play quick games or you can go for the cup in tournament-mode. Make your way through the rounds and win the final to become the champion. You can choose between two players, each having their own unique special ability. Do you want to kick a ball really hard? Pick thundershot. Do you want to be able to teleport behind the ball really quick? Pick the teleport ability. The game features a co-op mode, so you and your friend can play against each other. Prepare yourself for the Euro 2020 games, by playing Football Masters. Can you win the tournament?

What it's like to play

Scoreboards make everything feel important, and sports games lean on that. A session here is a sequence of short contests, each with a clear result. You learn the timing of a shot or a kick in the first round, tighten it in the second, and start thinking about tactics by the third. Opponents get quicker. The rules stay recognisable. It ends when the bracket does or when you do.

How to play

1Start a match and watch the first few seconds to see how your player or ball responds to input.
2Use drag, swipe or arrow keys to aim, and release or tap to shoot, kick or swing.
3Vary your shots. Opponents in many sports games adapt to repeated patterns.
4Watch the timer and play safe when ahead, take risks when behind.

Why it's worth a go

Football-Masters-Online runs free in your browser with nothing to install and no account to make. Matches last a couple of minutes and have a clear winner. It is a small, repeatable competition that works just as well on a phone as a desktop.
