The guide

Overview

Guide your giraffe through a vibrant maze, devouring everything in sight to stretch its neck to incredible lengths. With strategic thinking and quick reflexes, tackle ever-changing levels in a delightful twist on classic snake gameplay. Enjoy intuitive controls and charming graphics in this endlessly entertaining arcade adventure.

A child-friendly game should teach itself in under a minute, and the good ones in this category do. There is a picture, a prompt, and a reward. A child learns what to do by doing it. Sessions are gentle: a few stages of matching, sorting, coloring or hopping, with a celebration at each finish. There is no clock to beat and nothing to lose.

Why it's worth a go

Gluttonous Giraffe keeps things simple and kind. It runs free in a browser tab with no download or login, which makes it quick to open when a child needs five minutes of something fun. The gentle difficulty means almost every attempt ends well, and that matters at this age.

Who it's for

Suits children from around three upward, with the youngest benefiting from an adult nearby. Older children may finish it quickly but often like the colors and sounds anyway.
