Horse Divorce is a short, surreal puzzle game about horses falling in and out of love. Players control two halves of an elongated horse, overcoming their differences as they navigate and move obstacles.
The best moment in any puzzle game is the one just after you have been stuck. You have tried the obvious moves, nothing worked, and then you spot the thing you overlooked. The whole board resolves in a few quick taps. Sessions are built from a string of those moments, separated by stretches of quiet staring. It is slow in a good way.
Because it fits into the gaps. GMTK-Game-Jam does not need a download or a login, and a stage takes about as long as waiting for a kettle. It is also one of the few kinds of game that leaves you feeling slightly sharper rather than drained.
Players of any age who like a quiet challenge. Grandparents and grandchildren can share it. People who commute, anyone who enjoys logic problems, and those who want a game that does not demand quick fingers.
