The guide

Overview

2075 year. After the invasion of aliens, there was almost no life and oxygen left on Earth. The only plant that survived are cacti. The aliens want to destroy or steal all the cactuses to stop the live on Earth. The brave Granny who grows her cactuses on the road (so that they can receive rays of light) should protect them from aliens. She discovered that the aliens are afraid of human pills, and she has a huge amount of them, as well as a shotgun loaded in case of emergency. Help her and her cactuses to restore life on Earth and chase away the aliens.

What it's like to play

Shooting games are about aim and timing, and not much else gets in the way. Targets appear, you point and fire, they disappear or they shoot back. Ammo matters. Position matters. Some games are side-on with waves of enemies, others put the crosshair in the middle of the screen. Either way, a session is a steady escalation until your reflexes run out.

How to play

1Find the fire and aim controls on the start screen; usually the mouse aims and clicks fire on desktop, and tapping the target fires on phones.
2Shoot the nearest or fastest threat first, not the biggest. Big targets usually take several hits anyway.
3Reload or switch weapons during quiet moments rather than in the middle of a wave.
4Keep moving if the game allows it. A stationary player is the easiest target in any shooter.

Why it's worth a go

Granny Pills: Defend Cactuses is a sharp, focused test of aim that runs free in the browser with no download or login. Sessions are short and intense. It is a good way to spend ten minutes if you want something that pushes back, and there is nothing to clean up when you are done.
