Does Hoona have a story?

Most adventure games include at least a light narrative that gives the exploration purpose. The depth varies by game, from a single line of setup to multiple chapters.

Will I lose progress if I close the tab?

Possibly not. Many adventures save to browser storage automatically or at checkpoints. Returning in the same browser on the same device usually continues, but a different device will not.

Is a keyboard required?

On desktop a keyboard makes movement easier, but most adventure games also work with the mouse alone, and touch controls are provided on phones.

The guide

Overview

Dive into the thrilling 2D platformer adventure of Hoona, where you'll conquer 8 challenging levels filled with relentless foes and deadly traps. Master double jumps, outsmart enemies, and collect golden keys to unlock each new stage. Are you ready to test your agility and strategic prowess?

The loop is simple to describe and hard to put down. Find a problem, search the area, pick up what you can, try things until something works, and move on to the next room, cave or screen. Adventure games thread these loops together with light storytelling, so a session feels like reading a chapter rather than beating a stage. You stop at the next cliffhanger, not the next checkpoint.

How to play

1Watch the opening scene or read the first text box, since it usually tells you what you are looking for.
2Move with the arrow keys or by tapping, and press the action button near anything that glows, sparkles or looks out of place.
3Keep a mental list of things you could not open or reach; they are what your newly found items are for.
4Talk to every character twice. Second conversations often reveal something new.

Why it's worth a go

Hoona rewards attention. You notice a detail, remember it two screens later, and it pays off. That satisfaction is free here, with nothing to download and no account to make. Sessions can be long, but you can close the tab and return on the same browser.

Who it's for

Suits players who like a story and are happy to be puzzled for a while. Good for older children and adults. Younger players may need a hand with reading and with the trickier puzzles.
