The guide

Overview

Try thinking of a lethal bridge game where all the floors are made of molten rock. To leap from one glass to another, one must first choose which glass to jump from. Depending on the use, the glass may be either genuine or tempered. You'll have to work this out for yourself and see what your luck is. To stay alive in the game, you must memorize the pane you will be leaping. If you land on a random piece of glass, you can tell if it is actual glass or glass.

What it's like to play

You start somewhere unfamiliar with a vague goal and not much else. An adventure game fills in the rest as you go: a path that opens when you find the right item, a character who tells you where to look, a platform that was there all along if you had thought to jump. Sessions are built from small discoveries, and the best ones stay with you.

How to play

1Spend the first minute exploring without a goal. Note exits, objects and anyone standing around.
2Interact with characters by walking up to them and pressing the action key or tapping. They often hand out clues.
3Collect items as you find them. Most adventures will not let you pick up something you do not eventually need.
4When a puzzle stumps you, read your inventory and the scene again. The combination is usually closer than it seems.
