The guide

Overview

Horik Viking is a super fun and challenging 2D side-scroller game in the same style as blockbuster games like Super Mario, Donkey Kong and Sonic. The game features 10 levels that will challenge you to beat it. Cross the Nordic valley in search of the stars of Oddin, facing angry dragons. The designs are very colorful and beautiful.

Half the fun is the restart button. In an arcade game you are never more than one tap from another go, and the game knows that. It ends your run abruptly, shows your score next to your best, and waits. Sessions are made of these loops. The rules stay simple but the pace keeps shifting, so what felt impossible on the first attempt feels routine by the tenth.

How to play

1Tap or click once to start and once more to jump, flap, or fire. If a direction is needed, swipe or use the arrow keys.
2Lead your movement slightly. Obstacles arrive faster than they appear to, so act when they are still a little way off.
3Treat bonuses as optional. A bonus you could not reach safely was never a bonus.
4Pay attention to the score screen between runs. It often shows what you did better or worse than last time.
