The guide

Overview

This is and endless game, where the player can go on forever as long as it’s alive. There are two bonuses in the game: One slowing down enemies for 5 seconds when it’s been collected by the player, and the other spawning a “laser line” which clears out every enemy on the screen. The game has 4 difficulty levels, with each difficulty spawn rate of the enemies and collectables changes. The game also has a character selection feature. There are 4 playable fighters in the game, with each unlocked with the player’s high score.

What it's like to play

Crosshairs, targets, and a trigger finger that gets tired before you expect it to. Shooting games here range from fixed-screen target galleries to side-scrolling run-and-gun stages, but the feel is consistent: enemies appear, you react, the score climbs. Pressure builds through numbers rather than complexity. A session is a handful of rounds, each one pushing a bit further before the health bar gives out.

How to play

1Check the start screen for whether the mouse aims or your character moves with the keyboard, since shooters use both styles.
2Aim slightly ahead of moving targets. Most projectiles take a moment to arrive.
3Take cover or retreat when several enemies fire at once; health does not regenerate in most browser shooters.
4Grab weapon or ammo pickups when they drop, especially before a boss or large wave.
