The guide

Overview

Swing a massive iron flail to crush waves of enemies in this chaotic physics-based survival game. IRON SMASH is an intense physics-based arcade game where you wield a heavy iron ball attached to a dynamic chain. Use your mouse to build momentum and swing your weapon to smash through relentless waves of geometric enemies. Every enemy you destroy drops XP, letting you level up and choose from powerful random upgrades—make your ball massive, extend your chains reach, or turn into a speed demon. Master the physics of the flail to trigger explosive combos and survive as long as possible.

What it's like to play

Half the fun is the restart button. In an arcade game you are never more than one tap from another go, and the game knows that. It ends your run abruptly, shows your score next to your best, and waits. Sessions are made of these loops. The rules stay simple but the pace keeps shifting, so what felt impossible on the first attempt feels routine by the tenth.

How to play

1Tap or click once to start and once more to jump, flap, or fire. If a direction is needed, swipe or use the arrow keys.
2Lead your movement slightly. Obstacles arrive faster than they appear to, so act when they are still a little way off.
3Treat bonuses as optional. A bonus you could not reach safely was never a bonus.
4Pay attention to the score screen between runs. It often shows what you did better or worse than last time.

Who it's for

Reflex players, high-score chasers, and anyone who likes a little friendly rivalry over a phone passed around a table. Children like the early part of every run; adults like the part where it gets hard.
