Does Ligmar Online support online matchmaking?

Some multiplayer games here do, pairing you anonymously with another player. Others are local only. The mode selection on the start screen will tell you.

Can we play on a phone?

Turn-based and online modes work well on a phone. Shared-screen games are cramped on a small phone and much better on a tablet or laptop.

Typically one to three minutes. Multiplayer games are built for quick rematches, so a session of ten rounds fits in a short break.

The guide

Overview

Ligmar Online brings together what we loved about old-school browser MMORPGs: leveling, rare loot, dungeons, and PvP. There’s always someone to beat or a piece of gear worth chasing. But it’s the people that make it stick. You find your regular group, get to know your rivals, and fight for territory with your guild. And when something good drops, guild chat hears about it first. All with vibrant graphics, right in your browser. No client to download. Just open the game, and you’re in.

What it's like to play

The computer never bluffs. A person does. Multiplayer games here are built around that difference, whether you are racing a friend on a shared keyboard, taking turns on a tablet, or matched against someone online. Rounds are quick and often close. A session is a running tally of wins and losses that neither side is quite ready to leave alone.

How to play

1Read the mode list on the start screen and pick local, online or turn-based.
2If playing on one device, settle who controls which side before the round begins.
3Learn the one or two actions your character has and practice them in the first round rather than trying to win it.
4Keep playing rounds; the running score matters more than any single result.

Features

Why it's worth a go

Ligmar Online is a quick way to turn a spare moment with a friend into a contest. No download, no account, and it runs free in any browser. Rounds take a minute or two, so there is always time for a rematch before whatever you were meant to be doing.
