Can I play March Madness on a tablet?

Yes. Tablets suit sports games well, with enough screen for the whole field and room for swipe or tap controls.

Is there a tournament mode?

Many sports games here include one, with a ladder of opponents. Others are single match. The start screen will show the available modes.

Why do my shots keep missing?

Timing, usually. Watch the power or accuracy meter and release a fraction earlier than instinct suggests. It takes a few rounds to calibrate.

The guide

Overview

Basketball game with 2 modes of play and 4 achievements to win, tournament and shootout modes, play a tournament vs CPU opponents, or shoot it out for as many points in 60 seconds

What it's like to play

Two minutes on the clock, a scoreboard, and an opponent who is slightly better than you. That is a sports game in a browser. The sport changes, the setup does not. You control one player or one shot at a time, timing is everything, and the result is in or out, goal or miss. Sessions string several rounds together, often with a bracket to climb.

How to play

1Learn the single action input on the start screen, whether it is a click, a tap, a swipe or a key press.
2Position your player with arrow keys or by dragging, then execute when the ball or target is in range.
3Pay attention to timing indicators like a swinging meter or a shrinking circle; they decide power and accuracy.
4Win a match and move to the next opponent; lose and replay it with a different angle or timing.

Why it's worth a go

March Madness is quick, free and competitive. It runs in your browser with no download or sign-up, and each match is short. The scoreboard gives every round a clear outcome, which is more satisfying than it sounds after a long day of things that do not resolve.
