Midway Malarkey is a hand-painted 1930s cartoon arena brawler.
4.3Midway Malarkey is a hand-painted 1930s cartoon arena brawler. Rascals pour out of every tent at the carnival and your weapons fire on their own: rolling pins, trumpets, tesla coils and falling anvils. Dodge their shots, grab tickets, spend them in the Prize Booth between waves, merge weapons into stronger ones and collect weapon families for bonuses. Modes: the Endless Show (survive as long as you can while the nightmare scaling keeps rising), the 15-wave Grand Tour campaign, and a new Daily Show every day with its own twist (30 different shows). Characters: six heroes to unlock - Blot, Tilly, Gramps, Penny, Spool and Bix - each with their own starting weapon. Bosses: the strongman, Madame Merry-Go-Round and Barnaby Hokum, the Ringmaster. Plus carnival attractions like the Prize Wheel and the Strongman Bell, and four swing-era songs.
Shooting games are about aim and timing, and not much else gets in the way. Targets appear, you point and fire, they disappear or they shoot back. Ammo matters. Position matters. Some games are side-on with waves of enemies, others put the crosshair in the middle of the screen. Either way, a session is a steady escalation until your reflexes run out.
Midway Malarkey is a sharp, focused test of aim that runs free in the browser with no download or login. Sessions are short and intense. It is a good way to spend ten minutes if you want something that pushes back, and there is nothing to clean up when you are done.
Suits players who enjoy quick aiming and a bit of pressure, typically teens and adults. Fans of arcade shooters and target games will settle in quickly. Not aimed at young children.
