The guide

Overview

The Beauty Contest has arrived in My Town. Get ready for a world full of beautiful costumes, gorgeous makeup and an exciting, one-of-a-kind contest. Your favorite characters on the cover of a magazine, getting ready to walk down the runway, you can do it all in the new My Town: Beauty Contest. It's your game, your rules, your adventure.

Fashion shows, salons, kitchens and bedrooms are the usual settings. The games inside them are gentle and open. A session often starts with a character who needs a look or a dish, moves through a series of choices, and ends with a reveal. Some include small mini-games, like washing hair or stirring a pot, that break up the choosing with a bit of hands-on tapping.

How to play

1Select your character or task from the opening screen, then look for the panel of options along the edge of the play area.
2Tap items to apply them. Swipe or use arrows to scroll through more choices in each category.
3Complete any mini-game prompts, such as dragging a brush or tapping a timer, to move to the next stage.
4At the end, look for a camera, heart or star to save or rate your creation before starting a new one.
