The guide

Overview

In Narrow Passage, Halloween game, all you have to do is to tap on the screen to jump, avoid obstacles and move forward. But it is much much harder than it seems. You will face different and challenging obstacles as you progress. Also don’t forget about the side walls. They will keep getting closer to each other which means the longer you stay on an obstacle, the narrower the passage will get. And if you don’t move past the obstacle, you will finally get crushed between the walls. But don’t worry, whenever you past an obstacle, the walls will get to their original place (but they get closer to each other again.). So do you best and earn as much score as you can by avoiding obstacles and not getting crushed.

What it's like to play

Sit down with a puzzle game and the first few minutes are about learning its particular logic. Which tiles merge, which paths connect, what counts as a match. Once you have it, the game becomes a series of small, satisfying problems. Some are solved in seconds. Others need you to undo, rethink and try a completely different order. The pace is yours to set.

How to play

1Watch what happens on the first stage carefully; the game teaches its rules through the layout rather than a wall of text.
2Tap or click the object you want to move, then tap its destination. Swipes also work in most tile and block puzzles.
3Look for chain reactions, where one move clears space that makes the next move possible.
4Before using your last move or piece, check the board again for anything you missed.

Why it's worth a go

It costs nothing and asks nothing of you except a few minutes of attention. Narrow Passage Halloween works well as a mental reset between tasks, and because it runs in the browser with no download you can play on whatever device is nearest. Stages are short enough to stop at any point.
