The guide

Overview

Guide a lively ball through eight increasingly difficult landscapes in Newee Ball. Collect lollipops, dodge dangerous obstacles, and outsmart hostile balls. Master the double jump to reach new heights and plan your moves carefully to succeed in this captivating 2D adventure. Victory awaits at each exiting doorway.

What it's like to play

The loop is simple to describe and hard to put down. Find a problem, search the area, pick up what you can, try things until something works, and move on to the next room, cave or screen. Adventure games thread these loops together with light storytelling, so a session feels like reading a chapter rather than beating a stage. You stop at the next cliffhanger, not the next checkpoint.

How to play

1Watch the opening scene or read the first text box, since it usually tells you what you are looking for.
2Move with the arrow keys or by tapping, and press the action button near anything that glows, sparkles or looks out of place.
3Keep a mental list of things you could not open or reach; they are what your newly found items are for.
4Talk to every character twice. Second conversations often reveal something new.

Why it's worth a go

Newee Ball rewards attention. You notice a detail, remember it two screens later, and it pays off. That satisfaction is free here, with nothing to download and no account to make. Sessions can be long, but you can close the tab and return on the same browser.

Who it's for

Suits players who like a story and are happy to be puzzled for a while. Good for older children and adults. Younger players may need a hand with reading and with the trickier puzzles.
