The guide

Overview

Only Up. is an exciting arcade game in which you have to overcome obstacles and conquer heights. Inspired by the popular game Your task is to guide the character through a vertical labyrinth full of various obstacles. You must react quickly, jump accurately and climb up dexterously to avoid crashing into obstacles and falling down. As you progress through the various levels, you will encounter increasing difficulty and new challenges such as moving platforms and rotating obstacles.

What it's like to play

Half the fun is the restart button. In an arcade game you are never more than one tap from another go, and the game knows that. It ends your run abruptly, shows your score next to your best, and waits. Sessions are made of these loops. The rules stay simple but the pace keeps shifting, so what felt impossible on the first attempt feels routine by the tenth.

How to play

1Tap or click once to start and once more to jump, flap, or fire. If a direction is needed, swipe or use the arrow keys.
2Lead your movement slightly. Obstacles arrive faster than they appear to, so act when they are still a little way off.
3Treat bonuses as optional. A bonus you could not reach safely was never a bonus.
4Pay attention to the score screen between runs. It often shows what you did better or worse than last time.

Who it's for
