The guide

Overview

Some of the best soul games out there let you equip a wide variety of lethal firearms. You and an army of ghost drones have been at war for quite some time throughout several Minecraft realms. I acknowledge that zombies are capable and assure you that more significant challenges will soon be presented. I lack the means to save up for it right now. Having cover during gunfights is a massive part of what makes this game so fun, just like it is in any arcade shooter. The hero in a shooter game is usually armed.

What it's like to play

Shooting games are about aim and timing, and not much else gets in the way. Targets appear, you point and fire, they disappear or they shoot back. Ammo matters. Position matters. Some games are side-on with waves of enemies, others put the crosshair in the middle of the screen. Either way, a session is a steady escalation until your reflexes run out.

How to play

1Find the fire and aim controls on the start screen; usually the mouse aims and clicks fire on desktop, and tapping the target fires on phones.
2Shoot the nearest or fastest threat first, not the biggest. Big targets usually take several hits anyway.
3Reload or switch weapons during quiet moments rather than in the middle of a wave.
4Keep moving if the game allows it. A stationary player is the easiest target in any shooter.

Why it's worth a go

Original Blocky Combat Swat 2022 is a sharp, focused test of aim that runs free in the browser with no download or login. Sessions are short and intense. It is a good way to spend ten minutes if you want something that pushes back, and there is nothing to clean up when you are done.
