The guide

Overview

Tortoises are usually diurnal animals with tendencies to be crepuscular depending on the ambient temperatures. They are generally reclusive animals. Tortoises are the longest-living land animals in the world, although the longest-living species of tortoise is a matter of debate. The shell in tortoises is generally hard, they retract their necks and heads directly back into the shell to protect them. In the game Pet Wash, you need to clean up the animal's bodies. This is a difficult job because animals always have Lots of bacteria. Turtles, parrots, and giraffes are all very cute animals. If you like animals, don't miss this game.

What it's like to play

Choosing an outfit, a hairstyle, a color scheme, a recipe. These games are about decisions you make for fun rather than under pressure. A typical session opens with a character or scene, offers a menu of options, and lets you mix them until something looks right. Some add a small story or a client with a request. Most just let you play with the possibilities.

How to play

1Open the first category of options, such as hair or walls, and tap through them to see each one applied live.
2Move to the next category once the first looks right. Changes stack, so you can go back and adjust anything.
3If the game gives you a brief or a theme, keep it visible and check your choices against it before finishing.
4Press the finish, done or camera button to see your result and, in many games, save or share it.

Why it's worth a go

There is something quietly satisfying about making a thing look exactly the way you want. Pet Wash gives you the tools and gets out of the way. It is free, runs in a browser tab with no install, and works on a phone, which is where most people play it.

Who it's for

Girls and anyone else who enjoys fashion, makeovers, cooking or interior design. Young children can play with help; older children and teens will manage alone. Adults looking for a calm creative outlet also fit.
