Why can I not fire continuously?

Many shooters limit fire with ammo, cooldowns or heat. It is a design choice that rewards accuracy. Fire in bursts and reload in the gaps.

Does it need a powerful computer?

No. Browser shooters are light and run on most laptops, tablets and phones from the last several years. A current browser matters most.

The guide

Overview

You play as a scrap collector in space and must avoid the aliens that have moved into the abandoned mine you are exploring. Descend down 4 levels to collect as much scrap as you can before making it to the exit portal.

What it's like to play

Every wave is a question of what to shoot first. Shooting games layer enemies with different speeds, sizes and attack patterns, and the skill is in sorting them under pressure. Early rounds are generous with time. Later rounds are not. Ammo, health and the occasional power-up give you resources to manage alongside your aim. Sessions end when the screen gets too busy, and you restart knowing a little more.

How to play

1Read the controls, then fire a few test shots to learn the range and spread of your weapon.
2Pick off fast, small enemies first. They reach you quickest and are easiest to lose track of.
3Reposition between waves if the game allows movement; standing in the same spot makes you predictable.
4Save bombs or special attacks for emergencies when you are about to take damage.

Why it's worth a go

QUICK SCRAP is a free browser shooter with no install and no account. It gets to the point within seconds. Rounds are brief and intense, and the score at the end is a clear, honest measure of your reflexes that day, which is reason enough to come back.

Who it's for

Suits players who like fast, target-driven play, mainly teens and adults. Older children with good coordination will manage the early waves. It is not aimed at very young players.
