The guide

Overview

Keep your finger to the floor and be ready for absolutely anything in this ridiculously entertaining mobile racing game where you really never know what’s around the next corner. Fine tune your ride, keep your foot on the gas, dodge the endlessly varied obstacles, and try to keep out the way of your equally manic rivals in super-fast, super-exciting, psychedelic races that always offer something new and unexpected. Feel the need for speed? You’ll get speed, drama, awesome cars and a whole lot more in this addictive casual driving game that’s as intuitive as it is outrageous.

What it's like to play

Speed is the obvious draw, but racing games are really about control. Holding a line through a bend, timing a boost, judging an overtake. The first race of a session is usually scrappy. By the third or fourth, you have learned the track and the car, and the finish starts to feel earned. Races are short, so even a brief session covers a few of them.

How to play

1Pick a car or kart if the game offers a choice, then start the race and hold accelerate as the countdown ends.
2Steer with arrow keys, WASD or tilt. Keep inputs small and smooth, especially at high speed.
3Brake before corners and accelerate out of them. Carrying too much speed in is the most common mistake.
4Watch for shortcuts and boost pads on the track; many games hide a faster route off the main line.
