How long is a session of Sanctuary Rescue Plan?

Most people play for ten to twenty minutes, covering a few stages or one tough boss. There is a pause button if you need to step away.

Can I change the controls?

Some action games offer key remapping in their options menu. Many use fixed bindings. The start screen will show which keys do what.

Does the game need sound?

Not strictly, but audio cues often signal incoming attacks, so playing with sound on makes a noticeable difference in harder stages.

The guide

Overview

This is a secret room rescue game with simple gameplay and multiple levels. In the game, the player needs to help Stickman to rescue him from a closed secret room. There will be some random traps in the secret room. You have to be flexible and use your hand to cut the rope so that Stickman falls to the ground and escape from the secret room.

Fast hands help, but pattern recognition wins. An action game shows you an enemy, lets you get hit once, and expects you to learn from it. Over a session you build a library of tells: this one lunges, that one shoots on a count of three. Stages are short, health is precious, and the boss at the end of a section is where everything you learned gets tested.

How to play

1Learn to move and attack on the first screen, then deliberately watch the first enemy attack once before fighting back.
2Dodge toward open space, never toward a wall, and keep your back clear of other enemies.
3Alternate attacking with short retreats. Constant offence drains your health faster than anything else.
4Before a boss, collect every pickup on the stage. You will need the margin.

Why it's worth a go

Sanctuary Rescue Plan delivers a proper fight with no setup. It is free, runs in the browser, and needs no download or account. Stages are tight and sessions are short enough to play in a break, long enough to feel like you did something.

Who it's for

Suits players with decent reflexes and a taste for pressure. Teenagers and adults are the natural fit, with older children managing the early stages. Younger players will likely find it too fast.
