A mouse and keyboard. The mouse usually aims and fires, and the keyboard moves if the game has movement. The start screen shows the exact bindings.

How long is a typical round?

Two to five minutes in most cases. Endless wave games last until you run out of health, which gets quicker as the difficulty ramps.

The guide

Overview

Aliens are invading Earth and your mission is to fly your spaceship and shoot down the aliens before they reach Earth. Don't let the aliens destroy all of the buildings or it's game over.

What it's like to play

Crosshairs, targets, and a trigger finger that gets tired before you expect it to. Shooting games here range from fixed-screen target galleries to side-scrolling run-and-gun stages, but the feel is consistent: enemies appear, you react, the score climbs. Pressure builds through numbers rather than complexity. A session is a handful of rounds, each one pushing a bit further before the health bar gives out.

Controls

Tap, hold and swipe on phones and tablets
Mouse or trackpad on a computer; arrow keys or WASD where the game asks for movement
Press Escape or the exit button to leave the full-screen player

How to play

1Check the start screen for whether the mouse aims or your character moves with the keyboard, since shooters use both styles.
2Aim slightly ahead of moving targets. Most projectiles take a moment to arrive.
3Take cover or retreat when several enemies fire at once; health does not regenerate in most browser shooters.
4Grab weapon or ammo pickups when they drop, especially before a boss or large wave.

Features

Free to play, nothing to install, no account needed
