The guide

Overview

Splash Rivals is an online multiplayer paint shooter where two teams of four battle to cover the arena in their colour. Spray the ground, splash your rivals and swim through your teams paint to refill your paint tank and recover health. Choose from seven weapons, customise your character and powers, and team up with friends or create private matches for up to eight players.

Crosshairs, targets, and a trigger finger that gets tired before you expect it to. Shooting games here range from fixed-screen target galleries to side-scrolling run-and-gun stages, but the feel is consistent: enemies appear, you react, the score climbs. Pressure builds through numbers rather than complexity. A session is a handful of rounds, each one pushing a bit further before the health bar gives out.

How to play

1Check the start screen for whether the mouse aims or your character moves with the keyboard, since shooters use both styles.
2Aim slightly ahead of moving targets. Most projectiles take a moment to arrive.
3Take cover or retreat when several enemies fire at once; health does not regenerate in most browser shooters.
4Grab weapon or ammo pickups when they drop, especially before a boss or large wave.
