The guide

Overview

A basic racing game wherein you drive a buggy on a seaside track and must travel as far as you possibly can is presented to you. However, you must avoid colliding with other buggy vehicles and objects throughout the course, as doing so will result in the loss of one heart. If you lose all four of your hearts, you will be eliminated from the game. Your score is determined by how you've come, so try your hardest to remain on track for as long as you possibly can.

What it's like to play

Lap one is for learning the track. Lap two is for finding the braking points. Lap three is where you actually race. That is roughly the shape of every race in this genre, and it holds whether the cars are realistic or cartoon karts. A session usually covers several races, each one a little faster, and the final positions give you a clear measure of improvement.

How to play

1Read the control hint on the start screen, then start a race and drive the first lap at a safe speed.
2Note where you drift wide, and brake a little earlier there next time around.
3Use the slipstream behind other cars on straights to close gaps, then pull out to overtake before the corner.
4Collect boosts or coins if the game has them, but only when they are on your line.
