Starfield Lines

Starfield Lines is a free HTML5 classics game you can play instantly in your browser.

There is comfort in a game that has not changed. Classic games offer exactly that: a known set of rules, a familiar board or deck, and a challenge that depends entirely on how you play today. Sessions are calm. You might finish a hand of cards in five minutes or spend half an hour on a tricky board. Either way, nothing surprises you except your own moves.

• Tap, hold and swipe on phones and tablets
• Mouse or trackpad on a computer; arrow keys or WASD where the game asks for movement
• Press Escape or the exit button to leave the full-screen player

1. 1Start the game and confirm the variant if a menu offers a choice, such as draw one or draw three in solitaire.
2. 2Select pieces or cards by clicking or tapping, then choose the destination. Most games also allow dragging.
3. 3Look at the whole board before each move. In classic games, the trap is usually visible if you check.
4. 4Finish or restart freely. These games are designed to be played again and again.

• Free to play, nothing to install, no account needed
• Loads in the browser tab and opens full screen when you press Play
• Designed for a phone held upright
• Touch controls on phones and tablets, mouse and keyboard on a computer
• Listed under Classics

Starfield Lines is as close to zero friction as a game gets. Free, no download, no account, and rules you already know. It runs in the browser on any device and fits any length of break, from a quick hand to a long evening.

Suits anyone who enjoys a familiar game, from children learning the basics to adults who have played for decades. Especially good for older players who want a steady, unhurried challenge.

Is Starfield Lines the same as the version I played years ago?

Close to it. Browser classics follow the traditional rules with occasional small changes to scoring or layout. The help menu explains any differences.

Do I need a mouse?

On desktop a mouse is the natural way to play, though some arcade classics use the keyboard. On phones and tablets, touch covers everything.

How do I start a new game?

Look for a new game or restart button in the player, usually in a corner or a menu. Refreshing the tab also starts fresh.
