Sum Rush

Sum Rush is a free HTML5 junior game you can play instantly in your browser.

Children in the early school years want to feel competent, and junior games are built to let them. The controls are simple but real: steer a character, time a jump, pick the right answer. The stages are short and the mistakes are forgiving. A session might run through five or six stages with a star rating on each, and a child can see themselves improving.

• Tap, hold and swipe on phones and tablets
• Mouse or trackpad on a computer; arrow keys or WASD where the game asks for movement
• Press Escape or the exit button to leave the full-screen player

1. 1Press Play and look for the instruction or picture that shows the stage goal.
2. 2Move with arrow keys or the on-screen pad, and tap or press space to jump, grab or answer.
3. 3Watch for moving obstacles and wait for a gap rather than rushing.
4. 4At the end of each stage, tap next or replay for a higher rating.

• Free to play, nothing to install, no account needed
• Loads in the browser tab and opens full screen when you press Play
• Designed for a phone held upright
• Touch controls on phones and tablets, mouse and keyboard on a computer
• Listed under Junior

Sum Rush runs free in the browser with no download or account, so a parent can open it anywhere in seconds. For a child, it offers a real sense of control and achievement without the frustration of harder games, and it is easy to stop when time is up.

Suits children roughly five to ten, especially those ready to play on their own. Parents can watch the whole screen easily. Younger siblings may join in on simpler stages.

How much supervision does Sum Rush need?

Less than toddler games. Most children in this age range can play alone after seeing one stage. An adult nearby helps with reading and any tricky bits.

Can my child replay stages?

Yes. Most junior games have a stage menu that lets you revisit anything already reached, often to improve a star rating.

Will the game load on an older tablet?

Usually. Junior games are light and run on most devices with a current browser. If it stutters, close other tabs and try again.
