Is Super Tornado.io online or local multiplayer?

It depends on the game. Some use a shared keyboard or screen, others match you with players online, and some are turn-based. The start screen lists the modes available.

What if nobody else is online?

Online games may fall back to a computer opponent or ask you to wait. Local modes always work as long as you have a second person.

Does it keep a score across sessions?

Usually only within a session. Some games store win counts in the browser on that device, but there is no account to sync them.

The guide

Overview

Super Tornado.io is undoubtedly one of the most interesting new arcade games this year. It is also a multiplayer online game. Your task is to destroy all the buildings in the city with a tornado.

What it's like to play

More to play

24 games

Nothing tests a game like another person. Multiplayer titles here come in several shapes: two players on one keyboard, quick online matches, and turn-based games you can pass across a table. What they share is unpredictability. Your opponent adapts, bluffs, and makes the same mistake you did last round. Sessions tend to run long because stopping when you are behind is hard.

How to play

1Choose a mode on the start screen. Local two-player, online, and turn-based options are the common ones.
2If sharing a keyboard, agree who takes which side before the countdown starts.
3Play the first round cautiously and watch how your opponent moves, then adjust.
4Use the rematch button after each round. Most games keep a running score across rounds.

Features

Why it's worth a go

The best thing about Super Tornado.io is that the opponent is a person. It is free, runs in the browser with no download or account, and a round takes a couple of minutes. That makes it easy to pull up on a shared screen whenever two people are bored at the same time.

Who it's for

Suits friends, siblings and families looking for a quick game together, as well as solo players who prefer a human opponent online. Older children and up will get the most from it.
