The guide

Overview

Tomb Raider you will go on a dizzying journey with the most famous tomb raider. This time, the adventurer will go to an ancient temple that keeps many secrets in its bowels. You need to comb through every corner of the temple and not get lost in the intricacies of its endless corridors. Lara Croft will be armed and very dangerous for all the enemies that are missing here. Packs of hungry wolves, angry bears and swarms of flying mice hide in the temple chambers. You will have four types of weapons and you can pick up a pistol or shotgun depending on the predator. Many rooms will have many closed secret doors. To open them, you must look for levers. They can appear in the most unexpected places. For example, you will find one of the levers in one of the flooded rooms. So, some chambers will be hidden from view and you have to jump over the corridor and catch on to the ledge. Your main task is to find a way out of the temple, but it won't be easy. This complex, but incredibly interesting adventure game will become a real killer of free time and will completely absorb you for several hours. Enjoy the game and good luck.

What it's like to play

Half the fun is the restart button. In an arcade game you are never more than one tap from another go, and the game knows that. It ends your run abruptly, shows your score next to your best, and waits. Sessions are made of these loops. The rules stay simple but the pace keeps shifting, so what felt impossible on the first attempt feels routine by the tenth.

Controls

Mouse to aim, click to act
Arrow keys or WASD to move; Space to jump or confirm
Press Escape or the exit button to leave the full-screen player

How to play

1Tap or click once to start and once more to jump, flap, or fire. If a direction is needed, swipe or use the arrow keys.
2Lead your movement slightly. Obstacles arrive faster than they appear to, so act when they are still a little way off.
3Treat bonuses as optional. A bonus you could not reach safely was never a bonus.
4Pay attention to the score screen between runs. It often shows what you did better or worse than last time.

Why it's worth a go

Tomb Raider is immediate. There is no loading beyond the first few seconds, no download and no sign-up. Within half a minute of arriving you are playing, and within two minutes you have a score to beat. For a free browser game, that is all you need.

Who it's for

Reflex players, high-score chasers, and anyone who likes a little friendly rivalry over a phone passed around a table. Children like the early part of every run; adults like the part where it gets hard.
