The guide

Overview

In a world ravaged by a relentless plague, the dead walk. As one of the last survivors, you must arm yourself to the teeth in a desperate fight for humanitys last stand. This intense survival shooter throws you into the apocalypse, facing overwhelming hordes of the infected. Scavenge for weapons, ammunition, and supplies. Fortify your position or risk everything on a perilous run. Cooperate with friends to survive co-op missions or test your skills in endless wave-based modes. From decaying city streets to abandoned facilities, every corner holds danger. How long can you last? The horde is endless. Your ammo is limited. Survive.

What it's like to play

You start somewhere unfamiliar with a vague goal and not much else. An adventure game fills in the rest as you go: a path that opens when you find the right item, a character who tells you where to look, a platform that was there all along if you had thought to jump. Sessions are built from small discoveries, and the best ones stay with you.

How to play

1Spend the first minute exploring without a goal. Note exits, objects and anyone standing around.
2Interact with characters by walking up to them and pressing the action key or tapping. They often hand out clues.
3Collect items as you find them. Most adventures will not let you pick up something you do not eventually need.
4When a puzzle stumps you, read your inventory and the scene again. The combination is usually closer than it seems.
