The guide

Overview

Enter a mythical vampire world in "Vampire Survival," a thrilling multiplayer experience filled with high-stakes battles. Master your vampiric skills, evade deadly hunters, and cleverly use flight for survival. Accumulate gold to enhance your powers and outlast competitors in this intense, dark adventure.

Place a tower, watch the wave, adjust. Or move a unit, end your turn, see the reply. Strategy games build sessions from these small loops, and the pleasure is in watching a plan either hold or fall apart in slow motion. Resources are always a little short. The next upgrade is always slightly out of reach. You learn the map by losing on it.

How to play

1Pause or wait at the start of a stage to study the map, especially where enemies enter and where paths narrow.
2Place your first defences or units at a choke point rather than near your base.
3Let a wave or turn play out fully before spending more; information is worth more than a quick build.
4Sell, move or upgrade whatever is underperforming between waves.

Why it's worth a go

Vampire Survival is a thinking game that costs nothing and installs nothing. It runs in a browser tab with no account, and sessions can be as long as you like. The satisfaction of a defence that holds, or a plan that comes together, is hard to match in a quick reflex game.

Who it's for

Suits patient players who like planning, mostly teens and adults. Older children who enjoy puzzles and building games will take to it too. It is not aimed at players who want constant action.
