The guide

Overview

All who watches televised racing races on breathtaking asphalt tracks secretly longs to take the wheel of a rally car for a short time, if only to feel the actual speed and adrenaline feeling that is accessible exclusively to formula one drivers. Try to put yourself in their shoes during an Indy car race or any other high-speed event. Put an end to your fantasizing and fire up "Real Speed" to enter the world of the world's best and fastest drivers as they race on the world's most stunning asphalt courses, risking their lives in the process. If you believe you have what it takes to compete in GT Motorsport, then this simulation of Grand Prix races is for you. Get some closure on a nagging question: do you have what it takes to win a world championship in asphalt rallying? Do it now.

What it's like to play

Speed is the obvious draw, but racing games are really about control. Holding a line through a bend, timing a boost, judging an overtake. The first race of a session is usually scrappy. By the third or fourth, you have learned the track and the car, and the finish starts to feel earned. Races are short, so even a brief session covers a few of them.

How to play

1Pick a car or kart if the game offers a choice, then start the race and hold accelerate as the countdown ends.
2Steer with arrow keys, WASD or tilt. Keep inputs small and smooth, especially at high speed.
3Brake before corners and accelerate out of them. Carrying too much speed in is the most common mistake.
4Watch for shortcuts and boost pads on the track; many games hide a faster route off the main line.

Why it's worth a go

Xtreme Demolition Arena Derby 2022 is a quick, free way to get a little speed into your day. There is nothing to install and no account to make. The races are brief, the controls are simple, and getting a corner right is a small satisfaction that does not get old.
