The guide

Overview

One shot. Grandpa is a basketball legend who doesn't tolerate failure. Make a free throw with the right angle. Each shot must be thrown predicting the path of the moving goal, and the ball moving with the wind.

What it's like to play

More to play

24 games

Two minutes on the clock, a scoreboard, and an opponent who is slightly better than you. That is a sports game in a browser. The sport changes, the setup does not. You control one player or one shot at a time, timing is everything, and the result is in or out, goal or miss. Sessions string several rounds together, often with a bracket to climb.

How to play

1Learn the single action input on the start screen, whether it is a click, a tap, a swipe or a key press.
2Position your player with arrow keys or by dragging, then execute when the ball or target is in range.
3Pay attention to timing indicators like a swinging meter or a shrinking circle; they decide power and accuracy.
4Win a match and move to the next opponent; lose and replay it with a different angle or timing.

Why it's worth a go

Basketball Papa is quick, free and competitive. It runs in your browser with no download or sign-up, and each match is short. The scoreboard gives every round a clear outcome, which is more satisfying than it sounds after a long day of things that do not resolve.

Who it's for

Suits players who enjoy a short competitive round, including children who like the sport and adults who want a quick break. It does not need much prior gaming experience.
