The guide

Overview

Kick is a single player game in which player assumes the character of a soccer player keen on sharpening his skills. Awareness, speed and shot accuracy will come handy as player takes his practice into alleys which are full of obstacles; ranging from dumpsters to fire hydrants. Don’t smash windows. Points are subtracted when ball breaks a window but are added when the ball consequently hits a wall. The aim is to keep the points total above zero for as long as possible

What it's like to play

Swing, release, watch. Whether the game is golf, basketball or something less usual, sports games here boil down to a well-timed input and a moment of waiting to see if it lands. Rounds are short and scored. Many games add a tournament or career ladder that gives a session shape, with each win leading to a tougher opponent. The physics are forgiving and the rules are familiar.

How to play

1Start a match and find the aim control, which is usually a mouse drag, a swipe, or arrow keys to position.
2Set power with a meter or by how far you drag, and release at the right moment to execute.
3Aim for the gaps rather than the target. Corners of the goal, edges of the hoop, open lanes on the court.
4After each round, check the scoreboard and adjust your power or angle rather than repeating the same shot.
