The 2027 edition of EA's mobile football game covers the 2026/27 season with official licences for clubs, leagues and national teams, including the Premier League, MLS and LALIGA EA SPORTS. You can play a Quick Match as a club like Liverpool or Real Madrid, or pick a national side such as Brazil, Portugal or England and enter The World's Game tournament mode against more than 40 nations. The long-term hook is the squad-building mode, where you assemble and level up a dream team of current stars such as Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham alongside ICONs like David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane. PvP modes include 1v1 head-to-head in Division Rivals, VS Attack and a Manager Mode, and Leagues of up to 100 members compete in tournaments for seasonal rewards. This year adds mid-match Game Plans and a reworked passing system. It's free, but there are purchases of virtual currency, including random item packs.
EA's annual mobile football release, this time covering the 2026/27 season with the official club, league and national team licences, the Premier League, MLS and LALIGA among them. Quick Match lets you play as a licensed club straight away, and a national-team tournament mode called The World's Game fields more than forty nations.
The mode people stay for is squad building, where current players like Mbappé and Bellingham sit alongside ICONs such as Beckham and Zidane in a team you level up over months. Division Rivals and VS Attack cover PvP, a Manager Mode covers tactics, and Leagues of up to a hundred members compete for seasonal rewards.
A match is shorter than real football and the controls are built for a touchscreen, with this year's reworked passing and mid-match Game Plans giving you tactical adjustments without pausing. Most sessions are a few Division Rivals or VS Attack matches, then time spent on the squad.
The squad is the long game. Levelling players, chasing a specific ICON, and keeping up with a League's tournaments gives the game a calendar, and the seasonal structure means the squad you build now is the one you're meant to be playing with in six months. Manager Mode is there for people who'd rather pick the team than play the match.
It's the licensed football game on phones, so people search for it by club, by player and by the FC name itself. The national team mode is a big draw in tournament years. Beyond that, the squad-building hook has the same pull it has on consoles: assembling a dream team with real players is something fans want independent of how good the matches are.
Broadcast presentation: real kits, real stadium branding, player likenesses, and a pitch view that mimics a television angle, as the five screenshots will show. Menus are heavy, because there are many modes and a squad system with cards, levels and leagues to manage. Expect a lot of gold and shine around rare players; the pack-opening screens in particular are designed to feel like an event.
Over a million ratings at 4.7 and a publisher the size of EA: this is as well-supported as a mobile game gets, and the annual edition model means content is refreshed by design. Everything meaningful is online, so the game's future depends on EA's servers, which for a flagship licence is not a concern. The App Store is the sole store on our page.

Rated 4+ by the store. Free to install, but the description is explicit that virtual currency is sold, including random item packs, which is the mechanic that drives spending in squad-building games; set a budget or disable purchases on a child's device. An EA account and a constant connection are near-certain, though the listing doesn't spell either out. Storage will be large. Advertising isn't discussed.
Our take
The obvious choice for a football fan who wants real players and clubs on a phone, and the national team mode makes it timely. Go in with your eyes open about the pack economy, which is where the game earns its money. Anyone who wants pure match play without squad management should treat it as a Quick Match app and ignore the rest.
