Join each pair of matching coloured dots with a pipe, fill every cell and keep the pipes from crossing. That's the whole of Flow Free, and the simplicity is why it works. Small boards take seconds; the larger ones can take real thought. Free Play offers more than 2,500 levels across ten board sizes and several packs (Classic, Bonus, Bridges, Mania, Jumbo and Extreme), plus a new Daily Puzzle each day. Time Trial adds 20 scored variants by board size and duration for players who want speed rather than contemplation. Game Center achievements track pack completion, and colour labels are available for colour-blind players. The core content is free, with additional level packs sold as in-app purchases.
Link each pair of same-coloured dots by pipe, cover every square, don't let the pipes cross. Big Duck Games has built one of the most durable mobile puzzles on that single rule, and the elegance is that small boards are solved in seconds while the big ones demand real thought.
Free Play holds upwards of 2,500 levels over ten board sizes, grouped into packs called Classic, Bonus, Bridges, Mania, Jumbo and, for the brave, Extreme, with a Daily Puzzle on top. Time Trial adds twenty scored variants by size and duration. Achievements through Game Center mark off completed packs, and colour labels help colour-blind players.
Drag from a dot and the pipe follows your finger. On a small board the solution is nearly instant; on a Jumbo it becomes a proper exercise in deduction, where you work out which pipe must go around the edge before any of the rest can be placed. Bridges packs add crossings at marked points, which changes the logic.
Most people play a handful of boards at a time, do the daily puzzle, and keep a hard pack on the go. Time Trial is a different mood entirely, for when you want speed rather than quiet.
It's one of the rare puzzle games that gets installed on a new phone before anything else, and the search is often by someone trying to remember its name. The reasons are the volume of free content, the lack of friction, and the fact that it suits any attention span. The colour-blind option is also a genuine reason for some players.
Neon lines on a dark grid is the signature look, and the five screenshots will show it across several board sizes: coloured pipes glowing against black, a level selector, and the Time Trial screen. There's almost no interface beyond the grid itself and a few buttons. It's one of the cleaner puzzle designs on the store, and legibility is why it works on any screen.
More than a hundred thousand ratings at 4.8 is an exceptional result and a very large base. Big Duck Games LLC is a small developer, but the game is clearly its main concern, and a Daily Puzzle feature implies a content pipeline that keeps running. There's no server dependency for the core play. Our page offers the App Store link and no Play Store equivalent. No update dates are given.
Any attention span
Boards range from seconds to minutes, so there's always one that fits the gap.
Colour-blind players
Colour labels are built in, which most colour-based puzzles neglect.
Pure logic
No story, no characters, no economy, just the grid and the rule.
Rated 4+ and genuinely for everyone. More than 2,500 levels and the daily puzzle are free, and additional level packs are sold as in-app purchases; the description doesn't mention ads, though a free puzzle of this type usually has some. Game Center is used for achievements, which means an Apple ID but no separate account. No connection requirement is stated. Storage will be trivial.
Our take
If you don't have Flow Free and like puzzles at all, install it; it's free in a way few things are, with thousands of levels before a purchase is even suggested. The only people who should skip it are those who want puzzles with narrative or a social layer, because this has neither and is better for it.
