Other drivers are what make Waze work. Reports of crashes, roadworks, potholes, objects on the road, police and bad weather feed into everyone's route, so the app steers around trouble as it happens and keeps its arrival estimates honest. It suits daily commutes as much as unfamiliar trips. Turn-by-turn voice guidance comes in many languages and accents, including a few celebrity voices, with lane guidance at complex junctions and warnings as speed limits change. Routes show toll prices and can avoid tolls altogether, and road passes or vignettes can be added for HOV lanes and restricted zones. Along the way it lists fuel stations with prices, EV chargers and parking lots near the destination. Drives can be planned ahead by checking ETAs for a later departure or arrival time, and podcast or music apps run inside Waze. It works with Apple CarPlay. Some features are limited to certain countries, and Waze is not meant for emergency or oversized vehicles.
