Aimed at freelancers, consultants and small firms that want more than a basic invoice generator, Moon Invoice covers the whole billing cycle. Invoices, estimates, purchase orders and credit notes all live in one app, with no cap on how many can be created or edited. Documents are built from a bank of more than 60 templates and can be themed with colours and fonts, numbered with custom prefixes, and sent in over 100 currencies by email or WhatsApp. Recurring invoices run on a schedule, estimates convert to invoices, and emailed invoices report back when they're viewed or opened. Payments arrive through Stripe, PayPal, UPI, Venmo and other gateways, or by Apple tap-to-pay. Beyond billing there's expense logging, stock tracking with low-stock alerts, tax reports, and a dashboard with 15 or more business reports. Team members can be invited with separate admin roles, and their activity is logged.
Where most phone invoicing apps stop at the invoice, Moon Invoice keeps going into purchase orders, credit notes, expenses, stock levels and a reporting dashboard. It's aimed at consultants and small firms whose billing has outgrown a simple template, with no cap on document numbers.
There are more than 60 templates, theme controls for colours and fonts, custom numbering prefixes, and sending by email or WhatsApp in over 100 currencies. Recurring invoices run themselves, estimates convert, and sent invoices report back when opened. Payments land through Stripe, PayPal, UPI, Venmo and others, or Apple tap-to-pay. Team members get their own admin roles with activity logging.
A consultancy's week in Moon Invoice might run like this: a purchase order goes to a supplier on Monday, two recurring retainers fire automatically on the first, an estimate from last month converts to an invoice when the client signs off, and a credit note fixes an overbilled line. Expenses get logged as receipts come in. A junior with an admin role chases outstanding invoices from their own login, and their actions appear in the activity log. Friday, the dashboard's reports show the month's position, including which stock items are running low.
Small firms that have hit the ceiling of a basic invoice maker, with its three-invoice cap or missing purchase orders, go searching for something broader without jumping to full accounting software. The 100-plus currencies and UPI support widen the appeal to businesses working across India and abroad. Team roles are another thing simpler rivals don't offer.
With 60-plus templates and a dashboard of 15 or more reports, the five pictures on the listing will likely mix document samples with charts and tables. Theming by colour and font means the output varies more than the app itself, which, by category norms, is probably a dense set of forms and lists. More features generally means more menus, and the listing describes a lot of features.
Version 7.21.1 suggests a long history of major revisions and a steady run of smaller ones, though release dates aren't in the data. The rating sample is small: 4.7 from just over a thousand reviewers, so treat it as indicative rather than firm. Moon Technolabs Private Limited is the publisher, with the App Store link alone attached here.
Purchase orders
Credit notes and purchase orders sit beside invoices, which most phone invoicing apps skip.
Team logins
Staff can be invited with their own admin roles and every action is logged.
UPI and Venmo payments
A broad gateway list including UPI covers businesses billing in and out of India.
Free to download and rated 4+, but the listing doesn't mention pricing at all, which for an app offering unlimited documents, team roles and payment gateways almost certainly means a subscription; confirm before onboarding staff. An account is implied by the team features.
Payment gateways each have their own fees and sign-ups. Email, WhatsApp sending and read notifications need a connection. Nothing on ads, offline mode, storage or country restrictions, though the UPI option suggests Indian users are a target.
Our take
If your business needs purchase orders, stock alerts and more than one person logging in, this is the most complete tool among the invoicing apps in this batch and worth a trial. For a sole trader sending ten invoices a month it is overkill, and the thin review count means less reassurance than the bigger names offer.
