Local music files are the focus of Music Instant Rhythm, a player for people who still keep their own collection rather than streaming. It reads audio stored on the device and tracks synced from iTunes, shows them together with artwork and metadata, and plays everything offline. Playlists and favourites can mix local and iTunes songs, and version 6.0 rebuilt the playlist system for speed. Beyond playback, the app includes a rhythm-driven visualiser with several styles, which can be exported as a video, a converter that outputs 11 audio formats, an audio extractor that strips sound from video files, and bulk import from Files, AirDrop and other apps. A built-in web browser detects downloadable media and manages downloads with resume support, and a video manager plays what's saved. Listening statistics, a music news feed and a small games hub round it out. It's a lot of features for one app, so expect some sprawl.
This is a player for people who own their music. Music Instant Rhythm reads files kept on the phone itself along with anything synced from iTunes, presents them with artwork and metadata, and works entirely offline. That alone would make it a niche utility in a streaming age.
What makes it odd is everything bolted on around playback: a rhythm visualiser that exports video, an 11-format converter, an audio extractor for video files, a download-detecting browser, a video manager, listening stats, a news feed and a games hub. The developer is a single person, Mohammad Jabbari, and the scope reflects that one-maker ambition.
Most days it behaves like a conventional player. You import a batch of files through Files, AirDrop or another app, build a playlist that mixes local and iTunes tracks, and play. The playlist system was rebuilt for speed in version 6.0, so large libraries should not crawl.
The extras come out occasionally. Someone converting a batch of FLAC files to MP3, pulling the audio from a lecture video, or exporting a visualiser clip for a social post will find those tools in the same app, which saves installing three others.
It gets found by people hunting for a local file player that still handles iTunes libraries, which Apple's own Music app does less cleanly now. The converter and the download browser widen the search net considerably, since both are things people type into the App Store as standalone needs.
With this much functionality, the interface is likely to be busy, and the five screenshots probably show a mix of a now-playing screen, the visualiser, and tool menus. The description admits to sprawl, so expect tabs or drawers to get to the secondary features rather than a minimal single-screen player.
Version 6.4 and the mention of a 6.0 rewrite suggest an app still being actively reshaped. The developer is an individual, which means fast fixes but also a single point of failure. A 4.8 rating from 10K+ reviews is strong for a one-person project. Only an App Store link is given.
Local library holdouts
People with gigabytes of ripped CDs who refuse to stream.
Format conversion jobs
Anyone who needs to turn audio into another format on the phone itself.
Visualiser exports
Users who want a quick reactive video of a track for a post or a story.
The 17+ rating is likely tied to the unfiltered web browser rather than the music features. The listing says free but does not say whether conversion, exports or downloads are paid, so assume some features may be gated. Local playback is offline by design, but the browser, news feed and games need a connection.
Storage use will scale with your library and any converted or downloaded files. Nothing is stated about ads or regional restrictions.
Our take
Worth installing if you keep a local collection and would also use at least one of the conversion or extraction tools, since you get a lot in one download. If you only want a clean player, the extra features are clutter you will scroll past, and a simpler app will serve you better.
