Weather
Customisable forecast layouts with animated weather scenes; radar and 14-day hourly data cost extra.

Weather Live° from Mosaic S.r.l. puts the forecast behind animated scenes that match the sky outside, and lets you decide which numbers appear first. You pick the parameters to track and the layout you prefer, then get today's and the week's forecast for multiple locations worldwide, each in local time. The detail view covers minimum, maximum and feels-like temperatures, pressure in your choice of units, precipitation, humidity, wind, sunrise and sunset, moonrise and moonset, golden and blue hour, UV, visibility, dew point and wind chill. Severe weather warnings are issued for your area, a Home Screen widget shows temperature and alerts, and an Apple Watch app shows current conditions and the next few hours. The free version limits some extras such as UV, sun and moon, and visibility, and shows ads. Premium adds a 14-day hourly forecast, interactive maps, hurricane and lightning trackers, air quality, a Live Activity rain chart and the option to rearrange the detail blocks.
Forecasts with scenery. Weather Live°, from the Italian studio Mosaic S.r.l., wraps its numbers in animated scenes that match what the sky is doing outside, and lets you choose which parameters sit at the top. Multiple locations show in their own local time, with today and the week ahead for each.
The detail page is long: min, max and feels-like readings, pressure in whatever unit you prefer, precipitation, humidity, wind, sun and moon times, UV, dew point, visibility, wind chill, plus golden and blue hour. Severe warnings, a Home Screen widget and an Apple Watch app are included; radar, 14-day hourly data and trackers are Premium.
Setup is the one time you do real work: pick the cities, pick the fields you care about, pick a layout. From then on a morning check is the widget or a quick open to see the animated scene and your chosen top numbers.
For anyone chasing light, golden and blue hour times are on the detail page, which photographers will notice. On the free tier a few extras such as UV and visibility are held back and ads appear between you and the data. Paying unlocks the interactive maps, the hurricane and lightning trackers and a Live Activity rain chart on the Lock Screen.
The animated backgrounds are the first draw; the app is pleasant to look at in a category that is mostly tables. The second is control over layout, since few forecast apps let you reorder what you see. People who want radar should know it is behind the paywall here. A 4.6 rating across 100K+ reviews says the free version satisfies a large audience despite the ads.
The five screenshots will lean on the animated weather scenes, because that is the pitch, with the configurable parameter blocks beneath. Expect a rich, full-colour interface rather than a minimal one. Rearranging the detail blocks is itself a Premium feature, which tells you the layout is considered part of the product rather than a setting.
Version 7.24.44 is a high, three-part build number that points to a long-lived app with many small releases. Mosaic S.r.l. is a named company rather than an individual, and the rating base of 100K+ at 4.6 is large. Only the App Store is linked on this page. All of that reads as an actively run product, though the listing gives no update dates.
Customised front pages
Choosing which readings appear first makes it suit cyclists, gardeners or sailors differently.
Photographers chasing light
Golden hour and blue hour times are built into the standard detail view.
Multi-city families
Several locations in their own local time cover relatives in different zones.
Free with ads, rated 4+. The free tier withholds some readings such as UV, visibility and sun and moon data. Premium adds 14-day hourly data, interactive maps, trackers for hurricanes and lightning, air quality readings and the Live Activity chart; the price and billing period aren't given on this page.
No account is mentioned. Location access will be needed for local warnings. Offline use, storage size and regional limits aren't described.
Our take
A good pick if you want a forecast that looks nice on the Lock Screen and you are happy with ads or a subscription for the fuller set. Those who care most about radar should compare the Premium price against free apps that include it. Skip it if you want the plainest, fastest numbers; the scenery is the point here, and it comes with ads.
